Hello?! Is this thing on??
A few summer updates 🌻

Dearest Subscribers and Friends,
It’s been awhile, huh??
Turns out maintaining two regular Substacks was a bit much and because Yeah, I’d Hang Out With Her is my firstborn and beloved online journal, this baby has been grossly neglected.
SO SAD!!!
But thanks to the Universe’s great sense of humor, the very same week I started working on a new written rant to post here, I was contacted by two producers from the BBC World Service podcast, The Food Chain.
They’d found How to Act in a Restaurant on Spotify (or Apple podcasts… I actually don’t know where) and were curious if I’d like to be a guest on their episode exploring how best to order from a menu.
OF COURSE I WOULD!!!
The episode aired this week and is a lovely, well-rounded chat between me, an Irish food critic and a Chef/podcast host who lives in Dubai.
It’s a true testament, if you’re into this kinda sentiment, that you never really know who your work is going to reach so you may as well keep putting yourself out there. I absolutely LOVE this Substack and podcast and feel very proud of it.
Because I retired from serving almost two years ago 🤯, my pool of restaurant gripes to fish from isn’t as plentiful but never fear, like I mentioned above, I do have a new rant (about bad servers) publishing soon and plans for more posts this year.
While I don’t know if I’ll find a super regular rhythm at How to Act in a Restaurant, I do still publish weekly at Yeah, I’d Hang Out with Her and will keep posting treats here when I’m inspired.
To my absolutely divine and generous Paid Subscribers, I’ve had payments turned off (and will keep them off) for months now as paying for a subscription that delivers no content is crazy. Thank you, truly, from the bottom of my heart, for your support. Please, can we get a drink together soon?
Thank you all for being here. I hope you are having a great summer with lots of fun plans. We’re headed to Nashville for vacation next week and while three of the restaurants we were dying to visit are closed the exact days we’re there, I’m still excited and would love to post a Nashville guide when we return.
Sending you love and talk to you soon.
Happy holiday weekend!
xo, Brittany
